For the first time in six months, cows jump for joy when they see the sky and grass

Omrop Fryslân, a Dutch television station, captured the cows’ first taste of independence on camera. When the milk cows enter through the barn doors and see the blue sky, they completely flip out and start jumping for delight.

These Friesian cows had been cooped up in their stables for six long months through the cold, windy, and wintery months in the Netherlands, but the time has come for them to get out and enjoy the fresh green grass. A crowd of residents has gathered to cheer them on.

Cows, according to Canadian experts Anne Marie de Passille and Jeffrey Rushen, who study cow behavior, enjoy changes in scenery. “Whenever anything new or unexpected happens,” they jump, and their steps become more apparent. Video below:
