Rahul Singh is a wildlife photographer who has managed to capture many incredible photos of various animal species, including elephants, deer, jackals, monkeys, and rhinos.
Although they are all beautiful, his true passion is photographing colorful birds that he can find in nests in his hometown.
This was the moment that took his breath away. “I visited a place where there were clusters of these ornamental bananas to photograph sunbirds sucking nectar from them,” he said.
“Everything was going as usual, but suddenly I was stunned to see a crimson sunbird bathing in the water stored in the banana flower petal.”
The red flower in these pictures is a banana flower, and it collects water in one of its petals that it gathers during rainy days.
The tiny crimson sunbird, only 4 inches long, took this opportunity to cool off on a hot day.
After filling up on nectar, the little songbird cooled off in a “bathtub” made of petals. “I was literally stunned when I saw this unusual behavior, holding down the camera trigger as the bird bathed,” Rahul said.
He then posted the photos on his Instagram account and was thrilled to be in the right place at the right time to capture this magical moment.
“This was truly a moment that happens once in a lifetime,” Rahul said. “Nature can always surprise us in the most incredible ways.”
