Shopping is certainly at the top of everyone’s to-do list with the holidays quickly coming. And this mother deer is evidently not an exception either.
During her shift at the Horsetooth Inn and RV Park in Stout, Colorado, employee Lori Jones captured some adorable images of a wild doe perusing the store’s aisles. However, it was what transpired a little while afterwards that made Lori laugh.
The deer came at the entrance to the gift shop, peered inside, and then chose to enter.
She checked out the sunglasses rack.
She even said “hello” to one of the customers.
Jones decided to accompany the deer outside, coaxing her back to the field with a peanut bar. That was the end of it, or so Jones believed. She was wrong.
Jones reported that the deer returned approximately 30 minutes later with her entire family. “I’m working inventory in the office when I go outside and see her. This time, she brought her twins along with a young buck that she had taken in.
She grabbed a second peanut bar and then enticed the mother and her children back to the field. Jones usually doesn’t feed animals, but this time she thought she’d give them a little nibble as a thank you for being cooperative.
Jones then gave the deer a handclap to send them scurrying back into the nearby forest.
But the unusual visit is sure to be a memory that Lori will cherish.
