The lamb is a cross between a pure-bred white Dorper ram and a Dorper and Van Rooy ewe. She was spotted, just like John Bolton’s Dalmatian, Zoe.
When Zoe saw Dotty, she quickly assumed parental responsibilities. According to John, Zoe was a logical choice to serve as the lamb’s foster mother. She is now in season and was experiencing a mothering impulse when the lamb was present. Therefore, picking this up and having something to mother just seemed like a very normal thing for her to do.
