Deep in the heart of the Danube Delta, a wild horse roamed free. It was a creature of great beauty, with a majestic grace and impressive speed. But one day, its freedom was taken away, as it was captured and bound in a cruel and uncomfortable position. The metal of the chain that held it was also causing irritation to its skin, making its suffering even more unbearable.
Just in time, a veterinarian named Ovidiu Rosu drove by on his way to his work with Four Paws, an animal welfare charity operating worldwide. The moment he saw the horse, he knew he had to do something to help. He approached the horse with caution, noticing that it was trying to escape, but unable to do so due to its chains.
Ovidiu quickly set to work, using his equipment to loosen the chains. But as he did so, he discovered that the horse’s skin was also injured, cut by the sharp edges of the chain. Though it was clear that the horse had not been bound for long, the veterinarian knew that it would take time for the animal to heal.
Despite the pain, the horse cooperated with Ovidiu, and as he finally set it free, the animal showed its gratitude in an incredible way. As it ran free, its joy and excitement were palpable, and Ovidiu felt a deep sadness at the thought of all the other horses that were still suffering in similar ways.
This experience only strengthened Ovidiu’s resolve to work with Four Paws and other organizations to help animals around the world. Four Paws not only rescued horses but also ran sanctuaries for rescued circus bears and captive lions, with the ultimate goal of creating a world where all creatures are respected and understood.
